FAITH VINEYARD RUTHERFORD: The Faith Vineyard is a valley floor vineyard that is perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Rutherford is located just North of Oakville, in the heart of the Napa Valley. A very warm climate moderated by cooling Bay Area fog, it reaches 6 square miles from the Mayacamas to the Vaca Mountains, giving the most ideal number of diurnal temperatures for its grapes. With volcanic soils, these grapes have to struggle to grow, producing less grapes per vine, but very intense, powerful, beautiful berries.
TASTING NOTES: Nicely integrated oak and spice, cherry and rose petal, Lush, dark, rich, good acid, bright, spice, nice lively fruit. This is a food wine with bright acidity and soft tannins. Deep purple-black colored, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon rolls out of the glass ready for business with hefty notes of crushed rose petal, ripe cherry, blackcurrants, and hints of tar and leather followed by wild spice.

VARIETALS : 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
APPELLATION : Napa Valley
WINEMAKER: Miguel Carathachea
FERMENTATION : Tank & Bin Fermented, 14 Days Skin Contact
AGING : Aged 17 Months French Oak
VINTAGE NOTES The 2021 season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions in Napa Valley, Harvest began early with red wine grapes beginning on August 31. While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor. The smaller yields per vine and smaller berry size resulted in a richness and elegance that the valley is noted for in good vintages
WINEMAKING NOTES The lots blended into our 2021 Empyreum Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon were selected from one of our favorite vineyards and are estate grown. They were destemmed and berry-sorted on the crush pad and fermentation lasted 14 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrel. Each lot was aged in French oak for 26 months. 1/3 new. Blending was done at 18 months aging.
TASTING NOTES Our 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley displays a deep garnet-purple color and vibrant notes of blackcurrant preserves, redcurrant jelly and blackberry pie with fragrant suggestions of red roses, damp soil, and dried leaves. The medium palate offers nuances of elegance intermingled with the black fruits, supported by sturdy tannins and freshness, finishing long and deliciously.
